Last summer, I found a tablecloth at Goodwill and I know as soon as I saw it that I would make a dress out of it.
It's not the gingham I had dreamed of, but it's what the thrift gods had in store for me.
I took my sweet time to make this dress. Having no pattern to follow, I carefully took measurements, getting inspiration from a couple of dresses I already have in my closet.
And I got to use my new favorite sewing tool (hemming was a nightmare until now!)
If you want to follow a pattern, the Rosa Dress might be what you're looking for (I religiously follow Janelle's Youtube channel and get so much sewing inspiration from her all the way from Tasmania!)
I also used Rosery Apparel's free sleeve pattern to make puffy sleeves. Then I wasn't so sure about them... I did a poll on Instagram and then decided not to listen to the 5 people who voted and eventually decided to forgo the elastic and keep the sleeves as is.
If I had enough fabric I would make exaggerated puff sleeves (I regret not getting the second identical tablecloth at the store that day!)
I have many other dresses on my sewing list, (how cute is this one?).
What about you, what's on your end of winter/beginning of spring wishlist?
